On February 4, 2026, a total of 17 students from UTP and UTP received their certificates from Mälardalen University

On February 4, 2026, a total of 17 students from Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá (UTP) and Universidad de Panamá (UP) received their certificates from Mälardalen University (MDU) in Sweden for successfully completing the Distributed Software Development course, which ran from September 2025 to January 2026.

The students attended classes taught by MDU professors and worked collaboratively on various projects with students from University “Mediterranean” Podgorica (Unimed) in Montenegro, Universidad de Antioquia (UdeA), and Universidad del Cauca (Unicauca) in Colombia, all under the supervision of professors at their respective universities.

The students from Panama received their certificates in person from Professor Radu Dobrin of MDU, who was visiting UTP for a keynote speech at the Third Workshop on Intelligent IoT Services and Applications 2026. Professor Dobrin is the coordinator of the SUCCESS Project, funded by the European Union, under which these capacity-building activities for Latin American universities are being developed.
